FAQ :
Q. How does Direct Digital
Printing compare to traditional offset in printing manuals?
A. DDP prints directly from
a postscript, PDF or application file, bypassing the up front cost
of preparing films and plates. DDP is competitive in runs up to
two thousand, making it the perfect technology for “Just in Time”
inventory or high page count, short run manuals.

Q. When
should I consider offset printing a manual?
A. In cases where the one time
film cost can be readily absorbed by the length of the print run
and where there may be sizeable reorders, traditional offset can
be very cost effective. Many clients balance the cost of maintaining
a large inventory against the higher per page cost for DDP when
making their decision.

Q. How do I handle a color
cover?
A. Files are easily transferred
via FTP or email attachments. Cover art files initially go through
a process known as “preflighting”. This involves checking for missing
fonts or graphics files, sizes and die cuts. Fonts and graphics
must be included with the file in order to successfully output the
file. We accept a wide variety of formats.
