Computer Game Developer
The client develops some of the most popular games available
for the Macintosh platform. The company, which is almost a virtual
corporation with very limited personnel, needed a way to support
web-based sales in addition to distributor shipments.
S.P.A., Inc. worked initially with the client to design packaging
that would be appropriate for both direct sales via the World
Wide Web and channel sales that would end up on the retail shelf.
A secure site capable of processing orders nationally and internationally
was developed. Credit card processing, shipping options and
quantity purchases are features built into the SSL site. Behind
the interface there is a link to the shipping department at
S.P.A., Inc., which allow for immediate picking and shipping
as soon as credit has been cleared. A database returns shipping
and demographic information in a format easily converted for
the clients support function.
Working with the client S.P.A., Inc. established maximum and
minimum inventory levels. All manufacturing and shipping is
handled by a team of representative which support the clients
virtual business. By outsourcing the logistics of his company,
the client has been able to limit internal overhead and focus
his creativity on bolstering his product line. |
